Bathroom Cabinet With Storage
Bathroom cabinets come in many shapes and sizes, and there are many different types of storage solutions for these units. Choose the right size and type of cabinet to fit your needs.
Choose a Style That Fits Your Space
There are several styles of bathroom cabinets available, including freestanding, wall mounted, and under-counter. Freestanding models are typically more expensive than other options, but they offer the greatest flexibility. Wall-mounted cabinets are usually less expensive than freestanding models, but they require additional space behind the walls. Under counter models are often the least expensive option, but they do not provide much storage space.
Add Extra Storage Options
If you're looking for extra storage space, consider adding shelves above the countertop. This will allow you to store items such as towels, toiletries, and linens without taking up any floor space.
Find the Right Size
A good rule of thumb is to measure the width of the room where you plan to install the cabinet. Then add an inch to account for the thickness of the door frame. Next, measure the height of the ceiling and subtract one foot from that measurement. Finally, measure the depth of the bathroom cabinet for storage and add two inches to that number.
Select a Finish
Choose a finish based on how much natural light you will receive in the space. If you live in a sunny area, select a high-gloss lacquer or satin finish. These finishes reflect more sunlight than matte finishes do. If you live in an area with less sun exposure, choose a matte finish.
Install Cabinets
Installing cabinets is one of the easiest ways to add storage to any room. It's also a good idea to install cabinets before adding new fixtures. This gives you a chance to make sure everything fits together properly.
